Chikungunya epidemic makes the prefecture of Rio de Janeiro decree urgently

The Campos dos Goytacazes prefecture, north of Rio de Janeiro, declared the state of emergency due to the situation of chikungunya epidemic. The municipality has notified, until last Tuesday (3), 2,365 cases of chikungunya confirmed by means of clinical, epidemiological and serological badyzes. There have also been 95 cases of dengue, but there are no cases of zika and yellow fever.

Published on Diario Oficial this Thursday (5), the decree of the mayor Rafael Diniz authorizes the entry of the agents of the Zoonoses Control Center in the properties whose owners are absent or refuse the service and Aedes aegypti also transmitting dengue, zika and yellow fever. Since May, in several mutilated, 33 neighborhoods with shares in 27 thousand properties have been covered, but 18 thousand have been found closed.

In this case, the officers will be accompanied by health surveillance officers, the municipal civil guard or the military police.
