Samsung and ARM announced a partnership for the manufacture of base chips Cortex-A76 in a 7nm LPP process for the future LPE 5nm process.
The initial production of the new 7nm processors is expected to begin in the second half of 2018. Already the development of the first lithographic process Extreme Ultra Violet (EUV) is being delivered and should be launched in the first half 2019. This will allow 5nm chips to be smaller and more energy efficient compared to 7nm
The ARM has confirmed that a core A76 at 3.0GHz (7nm) would be 35% faster than a core A75 at 2.8GHz (10nm). The use of power in new chips can reduce up to 40%. The A76 kernel is nicknamed the "laptop" of the ARM clbad, so we can see it on mobile devices as well as smartphones.
Samsung also unveiled its long-term plans: this includes the 3nm flea reduction with Gate-All-Around-Early (GAAE) technology.
