Vaccination against influenza follows in some areas with the increase in age

Despite the end of the flu vaccination campaign, some states still have vaccine stockpiles and are continuing vaccination. As a result, the age of children and adults has been lengthened: young people over the age of five can now be vaccinated at age 9, and the oldest aged 50-59 can be vaccinated

. Ministry of Health estimates that nearly 7 million people, who have priority for vaccination, have stopped being vaccinated during the campaign. The goal was to vaccinate 90% of the target audience, but the rate reached 86%, even with the increase in influenza cases across the country.

The lowest rate continues between pregnant women and children: together, they have a coverage of 73%. On the other hand, teachers were fully immunized and almost all postpartum women, both Aboriginal and elderly. The rate remains for the purpose among health workers.

The latest survey of the Ministry of Health shows that as of June 23, Brazil has recorded more than 3,000 cases of influenza, with more than 600 deaths. Of these, four thousand were for H1N1 and 100 for H3N2.
