A 4-year-old died of suspected hemorrhagic fever in the municipality of Campina Grande, Agreste, Paraíba. The patient was admitted to a private hospital. According to the administration of the hospital unit, the girl arrived at the hospital with a very serious state of health.

An evaluation done at the hospital revealed that the child had dengue fever. She was hospitalized immediately. The child spent 21 days in the hospital and was subjected to a battery of tests that confirmed all the signs of dengue hemorrhagic fever.
