The low-cost airline Norwegian Air filed last Friday, 27, a request for operating direct flights between Brazil and Europe. According to the National Agency of Civil Aviation (ANAC), the authorization process lasts on average 120 days. After receiving approval, the company can record its routes and start selling plane tickets. But since it's on regular flights (charter and charters, for example), the airline could "advance" its operations with these flights.

Norwegian Norwegian, the third lowest-cost airline in Europe bases at Gatwick, the second largest airport in London. The company is also present in North and Central America, Africa, Asia and, more recently, has established a subsidiary in Argentina.

This was the first request received from a low-cost foreign company with an interest in operating in Brazil. According to Anac, the Norwegian company is part of the "trend to create new roads and pull the market towards its operating model". The information comes from the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo
