Former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said in a letter to PT members that the party had to "reconnect with the bases".
The document was read this Friday (30) at a meeting of the National Directory of Legend, in Brasilia. Luiz Dulci, former Minister of the General Secretariat and one of the founders of the PT, took the floor.

This was Lula's first public protest after the October elections. The presidential candidate of the PT, Fernando Haddad, sided in the second round against Jair Bolsonaro (PSL).
Initially, Lula was registered as a PT candidate, but the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) rejected his candidacy and the party announced Haddad's candidacy.
In the letter, Lula claims that the PT was the target of "persecution" and "tramoias". But even in this case, "it remains the most important and most important popular party of the country".
In the last election, the PT elected four governors, 56 federal MPs – the largest in the House – and six senators.
Lula led the polls until he was replaced by Haddad. In the letter that was read on Friday, he said that it was not a "normal election" because "it is forbidden for the Brazilian people to vote for whoever he wants".
"I was convicted and jailed in a judicial farce that scandalized lawyers around the world to withdraw me from the electoral process," he wrote.
In the letter, Lula attacks Bolsonaro, claiming that during the campaign, the captain of the reserve "created an industry of lies in the underworld of the internet".
According to the PT, the strategy was "driven by US agents and funded by a two-size case, unknown but certainly gigantic".
Lula also criticized former Federal Judge Sérgio Moro, charged with condemning the former president and who will badume the Ministry of Justice in the Bolsonaro administration.
"The Moro did not become the politician who said that he was not, he just left the closet in which he was hiding his true nature," Lula wrote.
The party summit met Friday to discuss and approve a resolution on party leadership. The document should be published Saturday (1 st) after the last debates.
Gleisi Hoffmann, PT President, former President Dilma Rousseff, Senator of Bahia, Jaques Wagner, and Governor of Piauí, Wellington Dias, were re-elected.
The National Council meeting was held in the absence of Fernando Haddad, who is traveling to the United States at the invitation of US Senator Democrats Bernie Sanders, opposed to President Donald Trump.
