Now known as the tree of the Petrobras River, symbol of the city of Rio de Janeiro, the city of Rio de Janeiro, Christmas was inaugurated this weekend, with lots of lights, music, feast and fireworks.

The attraction should be seen by thousands of people until January 6th. This is the largest floating Christmas tree in the world.
The structure is decorated with 900,000 colored LED bulbs at 70 meters of brightness.
The public can walk freely on the lagoon pedal boats and also tricycles for two, sponsored by a taxi company.
On weekends, free shows are also available on a stage set up on site. This Sunday (2), a great tribute will be made to the National Day of samba.
The program begins at 5 pm with the group Flor do Samba, a samba dance group of women. The Christmas tree was last installed in 2015 because the lack of sponsorship prevented its badembly in 2016 and 2017, interrupting a tradition of 20 years.

The Rio Tree will be lit until January 6th. The scenographic project is by Abel Gomes. Construction involved 1,200 people, among producers, engineers, technicians and artists.
