The television series of The Misérables of BBC One
Originally published in 1862, the novel follows the fugitive Jean Valjean, a former prisoner who struggles to escape the errors of his past while he was pursued by the ruthless policeman Javert. In addition to a renowned music scene, the work has already been the subject of many audiovisual adaptations, the most recent being that of Hugh Jackman and Russel Crowe in 2012. In 1965, the series of Les Miserables included six chapters, screenplay by Andrew Davies ( House of Cards ). The first is scheduled for 2019.
