Tumblr will ban any adult platform content from December 17th. The movement will remove badgraphic publications and groups from the social network, known to allow this type of content.
"Adult content will no longer be allowed here," Monday's Tumblr said in a Monday note (3). This ban should fundamentally affect the operation of the platform, which has always been a "differential" Tumblr among the most popular social networks.
Photos, videos and GIFs containing explicit content, such as a badual act, will be deleted. Currently, this type of content is broadcast on the social network. The exceptions will be images of clbadical statues, demonstrations and illustrations involving nudity. The texts will not be affected by the decision, which will allow to publish erotic stories and stories.
This announcement comes as a result of child badgraphy allegations on the social network, which resulted in the removal of Tumblr from the download list of the App Store. The company has issued a statement indicating that it has already removed this content from the network.
When Yahoo! Purchased Tumblr for $ 1.1 billion in 2013, one of the investors' questions was why Yahoo! was investing in a notorious social network for the large amount of posts containing badgraphic content.
Blogs with explicit content may remain on the platform, but will be heavily censored. Tumblr will allow the owner of these blogs to export their publications before the decision becomes effective.
Reporting Child Pornography
The Tumblr application is removed from the list of applications from the App Store, the Apple application store, since November 16 last. Originally, the reason for the disappearance was not clear, but after being questioned about alleged child badgraphy on the platform, the social network issued a statement confirming the case.
In a statement, Tumblr stated that all published content was filtered into a child badgraphy database and that images detected in this manner are never published. "A routine audition revealed content that had not yet been included in the industry database and we immediately deleted that content," the statement said.
