The body of former US President George Bush was transferred Monday (3) from Texas to Washington, the capital. Bush's father died last Friday at the age of 94.

At the edge of the runway, a crowd went to say goodbye to the former president who bequeathed him a rare legacy: respect and affection, even from strangers. The president confirms his presence in tributes to Washington and sends the presidential plane to Texas to transport the Bush family to the capital. On board was also service dog Sully, who had spent the weekend beside the casket during the wake of Houston.
In Washington, Bush was received with all the honors of the state. Politicians, many of whom worked with him, hoped to pay tribute to the former president.
The body of former President Bush will remain in the US Congress until Wednesday (5). On the same day, a ceremony will be held in Washington Cathedral in the presence of family, President Donald Trump and former US Presidents. After that, the body will return to Texas. Funeral will take place Thursday (6).
