Copel finalized the facilities of the refueling station, which is the largest Brazilian platform in Brazil, 730 kilometers long, linking the port of Paranaguá to the Iguaçu Falls in Foz do Iguaçu. The leaders and technicians of the company will make an inaugural trip Monday (10) from Paranaguá, west of Paraná, aboard five electric cars.
In all, there are 11 eletroostos scattered in the BR-277, which runs through the state. It will be the first time that a team of Copel will pbad through all electrovia.
Electrotropes are already operational in Paranaguá, Curitiba, Palmeira, Fernandes Pinheiro, Prudentópolis, Candói, Laranjeiras do Sul, Ibema, Cascavel, Matelândia and Oz do
The project is a pioneer in the country. "There are already sections of highway with eletroostos in the country, but not a network covering an entire highway.Paraná and Copel have once again launched the first and largest electric transport in Brazil," said Antonio Guetter, director of Copel Distribution.
A total of R $ 5.5 million was invested in the project. "Decarbonization is a worldwide trend and Copel is at the forefront of this movement by deploying an electrovia in a solid network and prepared to meet the urban mobility demands already under way," Guetter said.
Each electroposition has 50 kVA (kilovolts per minute) – the equivalent of ten electric showers connected at the same time – and three types of connectors, suitable for electric or hybrid car models available in Brazil.
The stations are all fast charging and Free: It takes half an hour to charge 80% of the battery of most electric cars. These models travel from 150 to 300 kilometers with each load. "As this is a research and development project, consumers will not have to pay Copel for electricity," says Guetter.
Automotive electrification follows trends in the international automotive sector and is in line with the Paris Agreement, which imposes new production and consumption of energy from renewable sources and sustainable technologies.
