Remember Allo? This is a Google mail application that has fallen into ostracism as soon as it is released. From now on, according to 9to5Google contacts, the company will stop providing this service. According to relatives of the project, Google would like to disconnect Allo because of losses, but delayed the announcement after the negative impact of the end of Hangouts Clbadic.
Earlier this year, the company had already indicated that Allo was undergoing a "pause" in investment, indicating that the service was not working well among the public. Also in January of this year, Allo Division Chief Amit Furlay was hired by Facebook and abandoned the project. Nevertheless, the company was suffering from a number of bugs in the application and it was difficult for users to save and retrieve their recorded conversations in Google Drive. Finally, WhatsApp already provides the same function.
Finally, the other reason employees are looking for the service to come to an end is that the whole team has been migrated to run on Android Messages, Google's SMS. Currently, Allo has been downloaded by 50 million users, which has been considered below expectations by Google. Still, Google is expected to recover from Hangouts due to the end of Allo. Currently, the company offers two apps to do the job that only Hangouts are alone to complete.
The first is Android Messages, which groups SMS and discussions with users of the same application. Meanwhile, Google has also launched Duo, a program exclusively dedicated to video conversations. However, the two apps are still not the most popular of the kind, losing room for their competitors.
Google does not even confirm the end of Allo, let alone the return of Hangouts Clbadic. However, according to some sources, Hangouts Clbadic could become an upgrade to unite Hangouts Chat and Hangouts Meet, creating a unique service that offers messaging and video offerings.
