Atletico must present Tuesday (11) the new visual identity of the club at an event at the Arena da Baixada. The identity includes the new shield and a new shirt. The event will be on the eve of the second game of the final of the South American Cup – the team will face the junior of Barranquilla (Colombia) next Wednesday (12).
Neither one of the jerseys – not to use in the final – nor the shield were revealed. The UOL sport even had access to a shield water pull, which simulates a hurricane and strengthens the acronym CAP. The club's president, Mario Celso Petraglia, recently declared that he wanted to differentiate himself from other athletes, citing shark Minas Gerais and clubs like Boca Juniors and River Plate, all of which belong to the "Clube Atlético". An option offered by Petraglia would be to call the club only "Paranaense". Another, just "CAP".
For the event to take place, only the approval of the advisers is missing. This Saturday (8) will be a meeting of the council deliberating Caju CT. The identity will be shown to the partners, who must return it – otherwise, nothing changes. However, confidence in the approval is so great that Tuesday's event is virtually marked.
The change in visual identity has provoked controversy because Petraglia has given statements that it could change to club colors – for the color of the wine, he says, is a mixture red and black. Then he returned it.
