Rio de Janeiro's Governor-elect Wilson Witzel (PSC) said the state's public security problems are similar to those in the Middle East.
In an interview with Israel on Monday (10), Wilson Witzel said:
The problems of Israel are very similar to those that we know today in the state of Le. We have armed groups similar to terrorist groups.
He added:
I am not here to compare Palestinians to traffickers. Our goal here is to use effective anti-terrorism techniques that can be used against traffickers. What we can not allow is that they continue to march in the rifle and terrorize the people of Rio de Janeiro.
According to the advice of Witzel, the purpose of the visit is to train Rio de Janeiro police officers in Israel to fight against organized crime.
On Sunday (9), Witzel met with Israeli Defense Minister Gilad Erdan to discuss a technical cooperation agreement in the area of public security. During the discussions with the authorities, the delegation encountered technologies focused on the prevention of traffickers' activities.
