The federal government expelled 566 federal officials in 2018 for irregularities, according to a survey released Wednesday by the Ministry of Transparency and Comptroller General (CGU).
According to the UGT, the main reason given was corruption, which resulted in the dismissal of 371 people, about 65% of the cases.

According to the UGT, 467 redundancies concerned staff members, 26 board posts and 73 retirements. From 2003 to November 2018, 7,281 federal servers were evicted.
The latest survey of the UGT, covering the year 2017, indicates that 506 servers were evicted for irregularity. During this period, the main reason for the evictions was also corruption, in 335 of the 506 cases (66%).
Among the acts related to corruption, the UGT emphasizes the use of the office for its personal interest, the receipt of free or undue benefits, the use of resources of the workplace in particular services or activities, improbity public safety), damage to public coffers and national heritage.
