A US court sentenced Michael Cohen, a former lawyer for President Donald Trump, to three years in prison for crimes of violation of campaign finance laws and false testimony in the US Congress.
Cohen is blamed in the scandal of the purchase of silence of two women who allegedly had relations with Trump. He paid bad star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen Mcdougal for silence about alleged relations with Trump and monetary evasion.

In addition, the former attorney pleaded guilty to another charge, made by the US Attorney's Office special Robert Mueller cat. Cohen lied to Congress about talks on building a building for Trump organizations – Trump Tower – in Moscow, the capital of Russia.
Trump is also under pressure from the opposition because former 2016 Republican presidential campaign leader, Paul Manafort, was sentenced to prison for fraud. Mueller's office is investigating Manafort for facilitating an alleged collusion with Russia as part of the Republican campaign.
Michael Cohen, 52, was a lawyer for years for Trump and his confidant. He then advised the president on real estate transactions and personal matters.
In July, it was reported that the FBI had seized recordings of discussions between Trump and Cohen during a search of the prosecutor's offices. In an audio tape revealed by CNN, the two men discuss the payment they would make to buy the rights of the story of Karem McDougal, one of the models with which Trump would have links.
After the disclosure of the audios, Trump criticized the former lawyer, saying that it was inconceivable and "possibly illegal" that a serious lawyer his client.
