The DEM national president and mayor of Salvador, ACM Neto, said Wednesday (12), after meeting with President-elect Jair Bolsonaro, that "things are moving" for the party to formally integrate the support base of the future government at the National Congress.

ACM Neto and DEM parliamentarians met with Bolsonaro at the Cultural Center of Banco do Brasil (CCBB), seat of the transitional government. One of the main leaders of the DEM, the mayor, Rodrigo Maia (RJ), did not attend the meeting.

Asked about support for the Bolsonaro government, the DEM president said the talks are heading towards the legend entering the support base.

"Things are moving in this direction, is not it? Every moment has been spent on an exchange of ideas and a better knowledge of the government's program," he said. .

At the end of the meeting, ACM Neto informed reporters that he would convene the national party office to define "the eventual formal support and a condition for the integration of the government's foundation".

Although he did not put an end to the support of the future government, the DEM will have three ministers in the Bolsonaro management: Onyx Lorenzoni (Civil House), Tereza Cristina (Agriculture) and Luiz Henrique Mandetta (Health). The DEM president attributed the choices of the three party members at the first step to Bolsonaro's personal and non-partisan indications.

"We can not hide that the party is looking forward to the integration of three of its members in the first step.We do not say, it was a choice of the president, but what are highly qualified ministers, the Democrats, "said ACM Neto.

The DEM is one of the parties that form in Congress the block called "Centrão", a front of conservative parties that articulates itself to have more force within the legislature.

In this year's election, the DEM supported the candidacy for the presidency of Geraldo Alckmin (PSDB). After the defeat of the toucan in the first round, the DEM leadership released the affiliates in the second round. ACM Neto, however, stated that he personally supported Bolsonaro in the dispute between Fernando Haddad of the PT.

The DEM currently has 42 deputies, but has elected 29 deputies for the legislature, which will begin in February 2019.

ACM Neto a stressed that the party "is committed to the program that will defeat the country" in a statement issued by ACM Neto.

He further pointed out that the party would not exchange government support posts, even with three of its members. Bolsonaro.

"We have no problem with the exchange of positions, our commitment is exclusively on the agenda, and even if we did not have a servant in the ministry, imagine three ministers, we could support the government based on what it can bring to the country, "he said.

The rapporteur for the ongoing pension reform project, Arhtur Maia (DEM-BA), attended the meeting. According to ACM Neto, the parliamentarian defended the need to place reform among the priorities of the future government.

Bolsonaro has already announced plans to try to approve the changes to the pension plan in installments. Setting a minimum retirement age would be the first point to discuss.

The current President Michel Temer has sent a proposal for reform, which is expected to be pbaded in the Chamber of Deputies and which should still be approved by the Senate. The bill was dropped this year because the government did not have the political capital to approve it.

ACM Neto explained that the absence of Rodrigo Maia at the meeting had been agreed with the mayor.

He recalled that Maia already had an audience with Bolsonaro and that her presence at the meeting could cause the "liberty" of the bench to be lost in the conversation with the president-elect.

Regarding the conflict in the presidency of the House, in which Maia can challenge reelection, ACM Neto said that Bolsonaro had maintained a "position of respect for the legislature", without interference in the choice.
