The DEM national president and mayor of Salvador, ACM Neto, said Wednesday (12), after meeting with President-elect Jair Bolsonaro, that "things are moving" for the party to formally integrate the support base of the future government at the National Congress.
ACM Neto and DEM parliamentarians met with Bolsonaro at the Cultural Center of Banco do Brasil (CCBB), seat of the transitional government. One of the main leaders of the DEM, the mayor, Rodrigo Maia (RJ), did not attend the meeting.
Asked about support for the Bolsonaro government, the DEM president said the talks are heading towards the legend entering the support base.
"Things are moving in this direction, is not it? Every moment has been spent on an exchange of ideas and a better knowledge of the government's program," he said. .
At the end of the meeting, ACM Neto informed reporters that he would convene the national party office to define "the eventual formal support and a condition for the integration of the government's foundation".
Although he did not put an end to the support of the future government, the DEM will have three ministers in the Bolsonaro management: Onyx Lorenzoni (Civil House), Tereza Cristina (Agriculture) and Luiz Henrique Mandetta (Health). The DEM president attributed the choices of the three party members at the first step to Bolsonaro's personal and non-partisan indications.

ACM Neto explained that the absence of Rodrigo Maia at the meeting had been agreed with the mayor.
He recalled that Maia already had an audience with Bolsonaro and that her presence at the meeting could cause the "liberty" of the bench to be lost in the conversation with the president-elect.
Regarding the conflict in the presidency of the House, in which Maia can challenge reelection, ACM Neto said that Bolsonaro had maintained a "position of respect for the legislature", without interference in the choice.
