The Federal Police (FP) on Thursday (13) launched the fifth phase of Operation Spurious Register, which investigates fraud and discrepancies related to union registers with the Ministry of Labor.

The objective of the new stage, according to the PF, is to deepen the surveys on the value differences of the special account for employment and wages (CEES), through the fraudulent claims for reimbursement of union dues.

During the fake register investigations, the PF verified, after badysis and cross-checking of the data collected, that the scheme had embezzled at least R $ 12,965,349.33 from the CEES.

Federal police officers executed 14 search and seizure orders issued by the Federal Supreme Court in Brasilia, Goiania, Anapolis and Londrina. The PF carried out searches of the legal council of the Ministry of Labor in Brasilia.

According to the investigations, the system worked as follows:

  • Entities fraudulently requested reimbursement of union dues allegedly received unduly or more in the CEES.
  • Requests, Based on Ministry Order
  • Amounts transferred from CEES to the entity's account and then paid to the plan members and lawyers.

The persons subject to the investigation. , according to the PF, will respond to crimes of embezzlement, pbadive bribery, active bribery, falsification of public documents and money laundering.

The first phase of the Spurious Registration operation was launched in May this year. On this occasion, the PF carried out searches in the offices of MPs Paulinho da Força (SD-SP), Jovair Arantes (PTB-GO) and Wilson Filho (PTB-PB).

In the second phase, launched in June, the PF targeted MP Cristiane Brasil (PTB-RJ). Of the materials seized during the first phase of the operation, the PF even got the deputy.
