Government delivers 1,000 vehicles to help fight Aedes aegypti

The federal government announced today (12) the delivery of one thousand trucks to help fight the mosquito Aedes aegypti . The ceremony of delivery of these vehicles took place at the Palace of Plbadto, in the presence of President Michel Temer and the Minister of Health, Gilberto Occhi. According to the minister, R $ 109 million has been invested.

"This is an investment for health monitoring.This is a vehicle that will be delivered to this work, a continuous job.All Brazilian states will be considered," said Occhi. For delivery of trucks, the rapid survey of infestation rates of Aedes aegypti (LIRAa) will be respected. Priority will be given to the distribution of vehicles in areas where the risk of epidemics is highest.

The LIRAa shows that among the 27 capitals of the country, Palmas, Boa Vista, Cuiabá and Rio Branco not only risk dengue fever, also zika and chikungunya.

According to the study, twelve other capitals record a warning situation: Manaus, Belo Horizonte, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, São Luís, Belém, Vitória, Salvador, Porto Velho, Goiânia and Campo Great

The government also launched the integrated vector control system of the mosquito Aedes aegypti . Beginning next year, the system will provide real-time disease surveillance in states and municipalities.
