The image of the Syrian boy Alan Kurdi, 3 years old, drowned and face on a beach in Turkey, initially inspired the work of Uğur Gallenkuş, 29 years old.
"Some live in luxury, peace and a culture of waste, others are hungry, feel pain and face wars," he says, summing up the essence of the compositions.
In his Instagram account (@ugurgallen), which has a little over 120,000 followers, he harmonizes the images of Sharbat Gula, the green-eyed Afghan girl on the cover of National Geographic magazine, with Monalisa de Leonardo Da Vinci. Children are recurring themes of their montages.
Uğur was born and lives in Turkey, a central point on the escape route for millions of refugees from the Middle East. His work is also an attempt to avoid trivializing the images of wars bordering the borders of his country.
"Today, it is not us who suffer, but there is no guarantee that we will not be in this situation tomorrow," he said.
