Embraer signed an agreement with Air Kiribati, a central Pacific archipelago, for the sale of two E190-E2 commercial jets, with the option of selling two more of the same model. The contract, divided Tuesday (18), has a value of 243 million US dollars. The deliveries will take place in 2019.

The airline, according to the Brazilian manufacturer, operates domestic and international routes. The current fleet of the company is made up of turboprops.
The request was made about a month after the tour of the E190-E2 bearing the chart "Shark", directed by Asia-Pacific. Embraer said the plane route included a stopover in Tarawa, capital of Kiribati.
The model, designed for 150 seats, is the first jet of the new Embraer E-Jets E2 family. The aircraft were introduced to the market in 2016 and the first of the models, the E190-E2, went into service in April 2018 with the Norwegian company Wideroe.
Already, shipments of the other model, the E195-E2 should begin in 2019 – the model is in the certification phase. The first E175-E2 should be shipped in 2021.
