Former US President Barack Obama delivered Wednesday Christmas gifts for sick children in a Washington hospital. Obama made the surprise visit to the sick wearing a Santa hat and a bag full of packages.
The former president handed gifts to patients of the National Children's Hospital who were in playrooms and also individually in the rooms, according to a statement from his office.
According to the Washington Post, Obama introduced children to puzzles, remote control cars, and nail polish. He stayed an hour and a half instead.

Before ending the visit, Obama welcomed a group of doctors, nurses and staff members, thanked them for their work during the Christmas holidays and sung Christmas songs.
Obama had already been to the same hospital on Christmas day 2014, while he was he still president.His wife, former First Lady Michelle Obama, attended the scene during her eight years at the White House.
