Married 8 years ago, Maju Coutinho does not have children and

The birth rate has declined worldwide in recent years. Between 2004 and 2013, the number of Brazilian families who chose not to have children increased by 33%.

The reasons are various: economic slowdown, economic recession, valuation of studies and increasing integration of women into the labor market.

Maju Coutinho is one of the women who chose not to have children with her husband, Agostinho Paulo Moura . She is 40 years old and almost 9 are married.

As she explains in an interview for Rádio Globo this has nothing to do with the fact that she likes or dislikes children, as many people think.
