NOT IN OUR NAME! ABGLT NOTE ON A MEETING WITH THE MINISTRA OF BOLSONARO
Yesterday, a meeting was held on some sites with a meeting between entities of the LGBTI movement and the future Minister of Family and Human Rights. man, Damares Alves, during which they would have been debated. the positions of the future Bolsonaro government on the rights of the LGBTI population
Invited by one of the participants in this meeting of the LGBTI movement, the ABGLT refused to participate and signed the document mentioned in this regard containing proposals to the new government.
We do not know that Jair Bolsonaro was elected to the popular vote and we deeply regret this tragic result for the LGBTI population and for the vast majority of the exploiters and oppressors of our Brazil. We believe that the agenda of Bolsonaro will deepen all the anti-popular attacks already practiced by Scourer Temer, which have affected all layers of the population located outside the 5% holding more than 50% of the wealth of the country.
And if the profile of the government and the future president were not enough, the person chosen to be the Minister of Family and Human Rights is a declared enemy of the rights of the LGBT population, with several declarations quite explicit in this regard. believe in a LGBTI minister who opposes the discussion of gender and baduality in schools, or who advocates the possibility of a "homobadual remedy" and who, at different times, has slightly acted against the Sem School Project L? homophobie? What credibility does this citizen have to register as an interlocutor with the LGBTI movement? Moreover, what do LGBTI activists who lend their image mean to give the future minister a "positive face" in relation to our demands? ABGLT will not give up denouncing the coup d'etat, neither the conservatives nor the fascists, and will continue the process we have initiated since the World Social Forum of 2018, calling on the militant entities of the Brazilian LGBTI movement to fight against all the Bolsonaro government's measures that respect our rights, as well as alongside all the feminist, black, youth, landless, homeless, labor movement and other excluded segments
