On the eve of his second term as President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, in a speech delivered during an act of his party, the PSUV on Thursday (20) challenged the elected vice president of Brazil, General Hamilton Mourão.
"Yes, Mourão, the blow that's going to give is going to be you, do you hear? I'm waiting for you here with several million men and women, as well as National Armed Forces willing to defend the Constitution, an independence at all costs, I will wait for you here, Mourão, come yourself, I invite you to come yourself, Mourão, "said the chavista who, a few weeks ago, suggested the possibility, in statements public, that Brazil is preparing a coup in Venezuela as part of a conspiracy with the United States.
In addition to calling the vice-president elected a "madman," Maduro quoted elected president, Jair Bolsonaro, in his speech today.
"Venezuela is not Brazil. You will not have Bolsonaro here. Here will be people and chavismo for a long time (…) Bolsonaro, we will never have it here because we built the people's strength, "said the Venezuelan president.
Bolsonaro, throughout his campaign, explicitly expressed his intention to influence a possible fall of Maduro and, more recently, "demystified" the Venezuelan president, as well as the Cuban state leader, for his inauguration ceremony.
