In the Vatican and the Holy Land, the night of Christmas was marked by messages for peace.
In the Church of the Nativity, the bells ring at midnight to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The celebration is the most symbolic: Mbad is held in the cave where, according to tradition, Jesus was born in the Palestinian city of Bethlehem.
At the Vatican, during the Rooster Mbad, he made the traditional gesture of spreading incense on the boy's image. Jesus, Pope Francis recalled the simple conditions of this birth. In the words of the pope: in the poor crib was born the boy who was "a new scent of life, with the scent of simplicity".
Recalling the simplicity of this birth that changed the history of humanity, Pope Francis once again spoke of something that sorrows him: according to him, we are very consumer, greedy and selfish . And this Tuesday (25), in the Christmas message, on St. Peter's Square, the pope has practically listed the tragedies of the present time. With a speech of strong political content, it has imposed all of us more humanity.
In the 70 years of conflict between Palestinians and Israelis, in the infernal war of Syria and in the humanitarian horror of Yemen, the pope expects no divine solution: he expects us, human beings that we solve the problems we have created.
The Pope also expressed his concern towards Nicaragua and Venezuela: "I hope that this blessed period will allow Venezuela to regain its social harmony and allow all members of society to to work fraternally for the development of the country and sectors of the population ".
At the end of the message "Urbi et Orbi", for the city and the world, recalled the pope as we are separated by the abyssal difference between poor and rich, between included and excluded, diversity is priceless. Francis preached against hatred, racism and any kind of extremism: "We are all brothers and sisters of humanity, our differences are not a danger, they are a source of wealth."
