Born January 17, 1921, Elisa decided to continue her career as an experimental physicist graduated in 1942 from the National Faculty of Philosophy (FNFi), which later became the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) [19659003] Along with Sonja Ashauer, Elisa is considered the second Brazilian woman with a degree in physics.
