The Metro Rio special cards for the New Year have run out this Sunday (30). The 153,000 tickets are the only ones valid from 7 pm on Monday (31).
From then on, only the metro serving Copacabana with special tickets – RioCards, Single Tickets, Giro and Unit will not be accepted.

At the same time, the box office will be closed, except those of General Osório, Cantagalo and Siqueira Campos stations, which will be open until 23:59 the same day.
The return of the special operation of New Year's Eve will take place between midnight and 5 am, exclusively by the stations of General Osório, Cantagalo, Siqueira Campos, Cardinal Arcoverde and Jardim Oceânico, by means of 39, use of the special card.
The other stations of lines 1, 2 and 4 operate only for disembarkation, from midnight to 5 am on the 1st. Metro Rio recommends that users of Copacabana give priority to Siqueira Campos train station when traveling to and from the airport.
On Tuesday, the operation will resume at 7 am and finish at 11 pm. The stations Cidade Nova, Praça Eleven, Presidente Vargas, Uruguaiana and Catete will remain closed and will reopen at 5 am Wednesday (2).
