Tsunekazu Ishihara, CEO and current world president of The Pokémon Company, recently commented, in an interview with the Japanese DIME website, his plans for the Pokémon franchise as well as some developmental experiments.

Pokémon Let's Go, Pokémon Let's Go, Eevee! were part of this discussion, games that represent the first titles of the main franchise to be released for a Nintendo console since Game Freak.

On this subject, Ishihara said that the development for Nintendo Switch "was more difficult than the one imagined by them". The developers of Game Freak have been thinking about how they could actually fit Pokémon to the Nintendo switch, and if so, what could be interesting to do for the three different game styles on the console? (TV, Tabletop and Portable). Ishihara joked that some members of the team thought it might be "five times harder" to create a game Pokémon for the Nintendo Switch, which does it for a system portable like the Nintendo 3DS.

Pokémon Let's go, Pikcahu! and Pokémon Let's go, Bishop! are already available exclusively for the Nintendo switch. A new franchise title with traditional gameplay is under development and will be released at the end of 2019.
