The re-elected governor of Amapá, Waldez Góes (PDT), and the elected governor, Jaime Nunes (PROS), were inaugurated in the early hours of this Tuesday (1st), the first day of the year, to badume the 2019-2012. The ceremony, which began around 0:30 (local time), was held at Sebrae headquarters in the central area of Macapá.
Waldez will begin the fourth term as chief of the amapaense executive and Jaime Nunes will occupy the first public office. More than 500 people, family members, politicians, representatives of the press, organizations and guests, attended the inauguration ceremony.

The first days of the new mandate, Waldez announced the administrative reform and intends to keep the promises of the government by focusing on actions in favor of health, education and public safety. He also stated that he felt "renewed" to enter the 13th year as governor.
"The person is the same, the citizen Waldez is the same, but the government must be different.I have not been re-elected to do the same.We need to improve our public management.We have lived a period in Amapá for workers, servants and public officials, "he said.
"Public health, education and security services will always be on the priority list of the country and other states.We must create opportunities, and for that we need money, but only with the recovery of the economy, "he reminded Waldez.

After being re-elected in 2006 to the executive, he left the position to run for the Senate in 2010 without a victory. He was appointed in 2014 and was chosen for the third time in the government of Amapá.
Born in Gurupá, Pará, on October 29, 1961, he is the youngest of 16 brothers and sisters, son of rubber tailor Otacílio Silva and housewife Isaura Góes. Waldez was re-elected and will occupy the governor's seat for the fourth time at the Palais du Nord.
He is the fifth elected governor since Amapá ceased to be a federal territory. The previous terms of office were between 2003 and 2010.
In the last year of the second term, in April, Waldez left his position to run for the Senate. During the campaign against the National Congress, he had even been arrested by the Federal Police as part of the Clean Hands operation. He was imprisoned in Brasilia for about ten days
. He was arrested with his wife Marília Góes and the then governor, Pedro Paulo Dias. It was the first time that a former governor and current governor was arrested in Amapá. They have been accused of embezzling federal public funds. He lost the 2010 elections.
