Google's Fuchsia operating system to run Android applications

It is not presumed today that Fuchsia OS, the mysterious operating system of Google, will replace Android in the future, but another clue to this change has appeared: a new document published on The Project Open Source (AOSP) quotes it in a simple way.

The publication takes the title "Target Devices of Fuchsia" and describes that "these lenses are used to create an ART for Fuchsia". ART is the acronym for Android Runtime, the mobile system virtual machine of Google introduced in KitKat as early as 2013.

ART Fuchsia will run Android applications via ART. (19459006)

According to 9to5Google a special version of Android Runtime for Fuchsia will be developed. It will work on machines with this system from a FAR file, the equivalent of the Android APK.

It is not yet clear how this process will unfold. It should also be mentioned that ART may be part of Zircon, the Fuschia kernel that could replace the Linux kernel of the robozinho system. This change would further narrow the bridge between the two systems.

But as Google has not yet specified its intentions vis-à-vis Fuchsia, it is only speculation. The only certainty so far is that the new system will actually be compatible with the huge library of Android applications, as Chrome OS does now.
