Last year, Samsung scared the world with the gigantic CHG90 monitor, with a 49-inch screen ratio of 32: 9 (equivalent to two 16: 9 monitors placed side by side). Now, with the arrival of CES 2019, the company has chosen to reinforce this bet by relaunching the model, but only now with a screen with an even higher resolution.
The model in question is CRG9, which increases the resolution seen since CHG90. at the QHD level. This means that if the old model had a 3840×1080 screen, the new model offers a resolution of 5120×1440. However, the company is not the first to do this because Dell and Phillips already offered 49-inch monitors in 32: 9 format and QHD resolution.
The monitor format is 32: 9. is effectively equivalent to two 16: 9 screens placed side by side. This is an interesting option for those who like to work or play with two screens, without having to manage a score in the middle of the panel. In practice, it's as if, instead of a giant 49-inch monitor, two smaller 27-inch monitors were on the table.
The CRG9 was developed for the public player, which is also reflected in some of its specifications as 120 Hz refresh rate and 4 millisecond response time. The screen also supports AMD's FreeSync 2 technology, as well as HDR10 technology, an HDMI port, two DisplayPorts ports and a USB port.
Samsung has not yet released a release date or price forecast for CRG9. The expectation, however, is that it is very expensive. In Brazil, the previous version cost R $ 11,000, so anyone interested should be willing to spend a fortune.
