RIO – The mayor of Duque de Caxias, Washington Reis, thinks he was attacked Friday afternoon, around 3 pm, on his return from a visit to the Cangulo Municipal Schools. According to Reis security guards, about 30 shots were fired during the clash with the criminals. One of the balls hit the rear tire of the car of the badistance team. – Unfortunately, there are places in the city that are overrun by banditry. I do not think it was an attempted robbery. It's a very bad feeling! It was on a main avenue, there was a rush … a shame for the citizen who must live with it today, "he concluded.

The mayor of the Baixada Fluminense Municipality also said that he would ask the police for permission to arm his guns safety.

The 15th BPM (Caxias) is conducting an operation in the rasta community to try to locate and arrest the criminals involved in the action.
