Singer-songwriter Marcelo Yuka is hospitalized in a serious condition at the Quinta d'Or Hospital, in the northern area of Rio de Janeiro. The reason for the hospitalization is not yet known.
Circulated information that Yuka was deceased. However, according to the press office of the hospital, this information is false.
In 2000, after being shot down during a flight to Rio de Janeiro, Yuka became paraplegic. In 2002, the group left Rappa, one of the founders, to create the group F.UR.T.O. (Urban Front of Organized Works)
In addition to being a musician, Marcelo Yuka is an activist and speaker. He was a member of the PSOL and in the municipal elections of Rio de Janeiro in 2012, he was a candidate for vice-mayor of the council of Marcelo Freixo, of the same party.
