The finish of the Phantom Gaming X RX 590 OC is good, but it does not go beyond that. Despite the impressive size of the cooling system, it does not have a very refined finish in addition to the backplate. ASRock is always looking to launch products at a good cost / benefit ratio, and some features need to be reduced in order to have a more attractive price.
Unlike the RX 590 that we badyzed, the Sapphire, which has two power connectors, a 6-pin connector other than 8-pin, this RX 590 has only one 8-pin connector, similar to most RX 580 models. This problem can affect the overclocking of the card.
System used
] We use a high-end machine based on a motherboard ASUS X99 String Gaming with processor Intel Core i7-6950X and 32 GB memories spread over 4 quad-channel modules and frequency 8 GB 3000 MHz. The idea is to avoid that the system limits the performance of the video cards tested.

Overclock
The frequencies of the RX 590 GPU have increased significantly thanks to the new manufacturing process, the memories are the same.
In this RX 590, we increased the clock frequency of the 60 MHz graphics processor; everything above the system was unstable in some tests. Already, the memories had been increasing by 200 MHz, with a final clock of 8.2 GHz.
Normally, we do not increase the voltage because, logically, the GPU is more and more constraining and it is not the one recommended for a continuous use. this is not the proposal of our tests, but it was the only way to reach a higher clock with the RX 590 models, but we do not recommend this option for the gains presented and to decrease the life of the plate
Overclocking requires an increase in the desired voltage at the GPU "Overclock at your own risk."
Energy Consumption
We also performed energy consumption tests with all plates compared. All tests were performed on the machine used in the badysis, which gives the exact notion of what each VGA consumes. It should be noted that the value corresponds to the total consumption of the machine and not only the video card. In this way, comparisons with tests from other sites can yield very different results.
