Users of Windows 10 Home can finally pause Windows Update for seven days, as shown by an image obtained by the Insider Preview testers. Apparently, the new option will be introduced in the next major update of Windows, the update 19H1 that will arrive in April. Users of other versions of Windows 10, such as Pro, can now suspend updates.
The option appears under Settings, in the Update and Security section, in the Windows Update tab. And it's worth noting that it comes with an icon, being quite intuitive and even highlighted, not hiding in the Advanced Settings tab, like in Windows 10 Pro, for example.
Microsoft was insisting on a somewhat "forced" system with Windows 10 updates, especially those of Home, which tends to have more non-professional users. The idea of the company was to keep most computers with their system in the same version, to facilitate support and security. But with the number of problems and incompatibilities that many updates have had recently, it has become increasingly difficult to defend this strategy, especially with the pressure of users to be able to close Windows Update
