The first week of January was marked by heavy rains in the capital, Minas Gerais, which contributed to the high number of occurrences. According to a survey by the Belo Horizonte Civil Defense, published on Sunday (6), only 159 events were recorded during the first six days of the month, most of them related to storms, particularly landslides, which totaled 22 calls.
