A fire hit the Copel substation in the Novo Mundo district of Curitiba, leaving about 45,000 buildings without electricity in the morning since Sunday (6). The fire was declared around 20:35, when the fire department was activated. According to the company, the lack of energy lasted between nine and thirty minutes.
Firefighters arrived quickly to cope with the incident, but as it is a substation that exceeds the high-voltage power supply, the team had to still wait for the arrival of Copel technicians to be able to enter. Preliminary information indicates that the fire was controllable and that the first fire crew did not need to ask for reinforcements.
