North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un went to China, where he scheduled a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, reported the North Korean official news agency on Tuesday (Monday July 7). -KCNA
The visit is made at the invitation of Jinping. Kim left on a private train with his wife, Ri Sol Ju, and other important members of his government.
The trip will last three days, until Thursday (10). Neither the route nor the reason for the visit have been confirmed. China is North Korea's main economic partner.
The visit comes amid rumors of advanced negotiations for a second meeting between Kim and US President Donald Trump.
Kim traveled to China three times last year, before and after meeting with Trump and with President of South Korea Moon Jae-in.
