How to use the emulator that runs almost every video game

During your childhood or even your teenage years, you must have already played video games and enjoyed clbadic games that you would like to see again.

Getting Retroarch

Exactly as it was said above, Retroarch is a program available for several platforms, including mobile phones, computers and video games. Although there are visual differences to fit on each of these platforms, the function names and the way to configure the Retroarch in them are the same.

1. Go to the official download page and choose the version adapted to your computer. When installing, at least under Windows, it is recommended to change the folder where the files of Retroarch will be located in an easy-to-access place, without it being necessary to tinker

   

Once you have installed Retroarch, it is recommended to set up your folders so that they are ready for use and you can play as you wish.

Starting Retroarch

Once the above process is complete, you need to make some additional adjustments, which will be defined in the program itself. You can now connect a gamepad to your computer, but preferably to the controls of the Xbox 360 / One or PlayStation 4, as they are automatically recognized and mapped to Retroarch. Here's how:

1. Open Retroarch with the help of the executable found in his folder;

   

2. Using the "arrow keys" and the "Enter" key or your "Joystick", enter

   

3. In this list, you must select each video game which will be imitated in Retroarch. Note that for some consoles, there is even more of an emulator, but you only need one to play. In the tutorial, we will use Megadrive for emulation;

   

4. Press the "Delete" key to return to the main menu of the Retroarch and select the "Load content" option;

   

5. computer, go to the folder "Roma" where you have placed your games;

   

6. When selecting a game, use the "Load archive" option. This screen appears when the games are compressed in ZIP format.

   

In most cases, Retroarch must identify the type of game automatically. If this does not happen, after the last step above, just select the video game you want to play. Finally, with the game loaded, to leave it in full screen, go to the option "Windows> Switch to exclusive full screen mode".
