Instead of preparing the S1 or RS1 Sportback requested by fans, Audi Sport is focusing on creating prepared versions of SUVs. The SQ2 was introduced last year in Europe and shows that there will be a SQ8, followed by a RS Q8, occupying the top of the line. The company is still working on another model, the RS Q3, spotted by our spies crossing frozen Sweden.
The camouflage of the model is a little useless, because one can easily notice the front bumper much more aggressive, with large air intakes. On the sides, the wheel arches are wider and show that it is not a normal Q3, while the two round exhaust outlets at the rear highlight the RS Sport treatment of the Audi Sport
Contrary to previous reports that the model would have a five-cylinder engine of 400 hp, the German magazine Auto Bild found that engineers had found a way to make the 2.5 turbo even more powerful. It is thought that the RS Q3 can reach 420 hp. It would not be surprising, since the Mercedes-AMG A45 S will have a 2.0-liter engine of 422 horsepower, which should also be used in its future competitor GLA 45 S.
It will still take time to Audi to unveil the new RS Q3, since the company has not yet shown the SQ3, the version that establishes the connection between the normal Q3 and the RS. It has already been seen in the tests, but the presentation has not been confirmed yet. Chances are it's unveiled in March at the Geneva Motor Show. If this happens, the RS Q3 will debut at the end of the year.
