A 38-year-old man was arrested while trying to kill his seven-month pregnant partner on Thursday morning at Rua Santana, in the Santa Rosália neighborhood, in Sorocaba, São Paulo State. Paulo. According to the civilian police, the perpetrator and the victim, 37, are doctors of the city.

The police followed the house after an anonymous report and, as soon as he arrived on the scene, Luis Claudio Pitanca Alcantara discreetly received the team and told him that there was nothing there wrong, while Karen Lilian Moraes Figueiredo of Mendonca was screaming for help.

Luis Claudio tried to prevent the police from entering the property and had to activate the reinforcement of four vehicles.

Karen told MPs that she had been punched in the head an hour ago and that the suspect had threatened to kill her and make her lose her son so that he "come out of his life". The discussion began when she discovered several relationships between the man and the ex-wife.

According to the bulletin of the event, the victim reportedly stated that the man had attempted to strangle him and had even thrown him to the ground by applying a wrench. The woman was able to flee her husband only after biting him.

Luis Claudio then picked up a kitchen knife and told him that he would kill her, driving the woman away. He was found by the police with the knife in his hand.

Already at the police station, the doctor again threatened the woman, claiming that "he would persecute her in hell if she stopped him." At the custody hearing held in the morning, the accused had seen the arrest turn into a preventative.

The case was recorded as attempted femicide, bodily injury and threat. According to the police, the doctor called colleagues and was treated at home.
