Tesla closes the customer indication program to reduce costs

Last Thursday (17/01), Tesla President Elon Musk announced via Twitter that Tesla will terminate the customer sponsorship program on February 1, 2019.

The sponsorship program was launched in 2015 in order to turn its first customers into "advertising", which seems to have had a lot of success, because one of the biggest challenges of the company is to maintain the production goal. This is a sign that you have managed to sell yourself well. The program was advantageous for everyone: the new buyer received a freebie, the customer who had proposed it had won a set of prizes (including a battery Powerwall home) and Tesla had won another customer who eventually converted another friend in one of the customers of the company.

Unfortunately, today, the program has jeopardized Tesla's revenues.

The Tesla Customer Sponsorship Program will end on February 1 st. If you want to ask a friend to buy Tesla, give him 6 months of free overeating.

After the announcement of Musk, he returns to Twitter and states that the program overestimated the company's vehicles.

especially Model 3. Given that currently the efforts of the manufacturer go in the opposite direction. In December 2018, it reduced model 3 prices in China and recently finished manufacturing cheaper versions of the sedan and the X model (SUV).

The program currently offers a set of customer bonuses and, for listed customers, provides six months of free recharge via the Supercharger network.
