After leaving Paulo Guedes, Bozano changes center and name

Bozano Investimentos has encouraged further changes in its structure, as well as the main leaders of the company and entrepreneur Elie Horn (founder of Cyrela), after participation in the company, the company will adopt a new brand: Crescera Investimentos.

Along with the new denomination, the manager's performance will change. It will now focus on venture capital and private equity firms, with disbursements for the purchase of shares ranging from R50 million to R300 million.

To focus on these two areas, the company will abandon its portfolio of "liquid funds" (such as those traded on the stock exchange), which will be transferred to XP Asset Management. According to Crescera's co-chairs, Jaime Cardoso and Daniel Borghi, the company will reduce its total badets under management from about R500 million to R3.3 billion.

According to Borghi, the choice of the new brand is not related to the exit of Guedes, but aims to invest in companies with high growth potential. The manager, who still has a fund raised in 2017 and 2018 and still has a 300 million rand investment in companies, plans to launch a new fundraising in the second half of this year.

"We want to attract investors willing to wait for much longer periods [ for to buy back resources )," said Borghi. Crescera's private equity investments include the Estapar car park network, the Hospital Care holding company and NRE Educacional.

Ex-Bozano's liquid fund clients have already begun to be informed of the transfer of portfolios to XP. The completion of this activity is still dependent on the meetings of the holders of these funds, a process that executives believe is ongoing.

Bozano Investimentos is the result of the union of three companies: BR Investimentos, Mercatto and Trapezus. The company, which had managed to manage a $ 3.5 billion badet, adopted the Bozano name five years ago, borrowing the mark of businessman Julio Bozano. According to Borghi, the change of brand will also solve this problem, although Bozano remains the minority partner of the company.

Guedes – who participated in the creation of Banco Pactual and later founded BR Investimentos – was the public face of Bozano in recent years. He was president of the company until November 2018, after the result of the second round of elections. The exit of the Minister of the Economy of Members was closed in December.
