A UFMG Masters project seeks women interested in participating in research on the influence of fasting on daily activities. Twenty volunteers, aged 18 to 59 years and with a body mbad index (BMI) of 35 or more, will be recruited.

Developed by nutritionist Jenneffer Braga, the postgraduate program in the Faculty's Food Science "The inflammatory and metabolic effect of fasting in women with and without obesity" seeks to study the implications of fasting, a practice increasingly adopted by those seeking better health.

The test will be carried out by one day and the participants must go to the hospital das Clínicas da UFMG twice: in the morning and at the end of the day, for evaluation. In the meantime, volunteers should not eat for 10 hours when they develop their usual activities, such as working and studying.

After fasting, they will be evaluated clinically (with glucose measurement and blood sampling) and will answer a questionnaire with questions about feeling hungry, humor, among others. Calorie expenditure throughout the day will also be badyzed.

Interested persons can send an e-mail to the address atendimentoufmg.ob@gmail. The deadline for showing interest in participating in the research ends on March 15 or until all volunteers are selected.
