The incident in Brumadinho occurs three years after the tragedy of Mariana, when a residue dam of Vale's company Samarco was broken. The accident occurred on November 5, 2015. Nineteen people have died and the cities in the area are still suffering the effects of toxic waste strewn in the mud.
