The body of Fabrício Amaral, a 42-year-old mountaineer, was found by rescue teams in an area of Mount Fitz Roy, known as "La Silla". According to the friend of the climber of the capixaba, Fabio Fabes, relatives and friends were informed Friday (25) that the bodies of Fabrício and Leandro Iannotta had been seen by telescope.

The couple had been missing since last Friday (18) while he was attempting to climb Mount Fitz Roy, more than three thousand meters high in Argentina.

Born in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, Fabrício Amaral resided in Vila Velha and was a professor at the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (Ifes). According to Fábio Fabes, Fabrício has more than 20 years of climbing experience and leaves the country to challenge the mountains of South America once a year.

Fábio points out that Fitz Roy is a huge challenge for mountaineers because of the mountains walls that require a lot of technique to overcome. In addition, the treacherous climate of the region is reported as the main cause of death of mountaineers.

Fábio indicates that the last contact with his friend occurred on January 15, when Fabrizio informed him that he would try to climb.

"Fabrizio said that he would call me as soon as he would be back from the climb. The return was scheduled for the 20th. The climate in the area being bad, it was three days and a half for climbing.

According to information provided by members of the rescue team, the place where the bodies were found indicates that the couple had given up reaching the summit of the mountain and was returning to the camp, probably because of bad weather in the area.

The friend states that the rescue of the bodies in this situation is impossible and that they will be buried in the very mountain.
