According to dfndr lab, PSafe's cyber security specialist, the new edition of the hit was detected 200,000 times in 24 hours. The previous version, which had been distributed in June 2018, had been detected 3.2 million times.
To make the counterfeit site credible, the page asks questions to the victim, such as "did you work with an official contract between 2005 and 2018?" And "Are you currently registered?". However, none of this changes the behavior of the fake page, forcing the victim to share the shot with up to 30 friends.
Emilio Simoni, director of the dfndr lab, points out that the move is trying to take advantage of a topical issue that is important for many Brazilians for managers to charge with publicity. "But the biggest loss is the misinformation of millions of people who need this benefit and can suffer direct harm," he says.

Damages
Frauds in WhatsApp typically reveal apps, services or products through advertising agreements. This means that the damages caused by these frauds are usually paid by the advertisers, who receive visits from people who have no real interest in the product they offer (since they have been deceived, as in the present case by proposing another content).
Be very careful, however, because criminals can incorporate other coup mechanisms into fraud. The notifications are part of it: once authorized, the criminal can send any text in the notification area of the mobile phone. As the source of this content will not be immediately clear, it is possible that other scams, such as cloned social networking sites or banks, will result.
Another risk is attacking the Internet router if access is via Wi For these reasons, it is recommended to avoid access to fake links distributed in WhatsApp and not to miss the pages that force any sharing to disclose the promised information. The dfndr lab site also provides a link checker that can help identify suspicious pages.
