Users of the ABD Corridor will be able to conduct free rapid HIV tests on Monday, January 28 at the São Mateus Metropolitan Terminal, in partnership with the São Paulo City Hall Counseling and Consultation Center [19659002] ] At the Jabaquara Metropolitan Terminal, a rapid test for HIV and syphilis will be conducted on Thursday 31/01. The action is a partnership with the Reference and Treatment Center – CRT DST / AIDS, of the state government.

In both actions will be distributed informative materials and condoms.

Reduction in the number of cases in the country

In Brazil, 42,420 new cases of HIV and 37,791 cases of AIDS were diagnosed in 2017. The data comes from the 2018 Epidemiological Bulletin of the Secretary monitoring in the Ministry of Health.

The proportionate distribution of AIDS cases identified from 1980 to June 2018 shows a higher concentration in the Southeast and South regions, corresponding respectively to 51.8% and 20%.

The detection rate of the virus has decreased in recent years. Over a period of 10 years, the figures indicate a reduction of 9.4%: in 2007, they were 20.2 cases per 100 000 inhabitants and, in 2017, 18.3 cases per 100 000 inhabitants.
