The body of Wagner Montes (PRB), elected federal MP and TV presenter, will be cremated on Sunday. The solemnity takes place at Penitence Cemetery, Caju, in the central region of Rio. It is reserved for friends and family.
Wagner Montes died on Saturday (26), around 11:30. The wake began that night and is open to the public in the lobby of Tiradentes Palace, the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro, until 1 pm this Sunday (27).
Montes was hospitalized two months ago at the Barra Hospital of Gold for the treatment of a urinary tract infection. The cause of death was septic shock and abdominal sepsis. In November 2018, the MP had already suffered a heart attack.
Wagner Montes was elected federal deputy in the last elections by the Brazilian Republican Party (PRB), with 65,868 votes. He was on his third term in Alerj as a deputy.
Married for 30 years with presenter Sônia Lima, Wagner was also a lawyer and presented TV news on Record TV.

Mayor Marcelo Crivella has declared official mourning for three days in the city of Rio January in the honor of the politician. For the head of the municipal executive, the trajectory of Wagner Montes "is an example of the vocation and nature of the citizen of Rio de Janeiro," Crivella said in a statement.
Andre Ceciliano (PT), President-in-Office of Alerj, declared himself "deeply saddened" by the death of "a friend, a brother and a co-worker".
"Wagner's joy, his ability to work and especially to overcome difficulties have always characterized his personality," Ceciliano said.
Created in the municipality of Duque de Caxias, in the Fluminense Baixada, the politician had a poor childhood. In his youth, he worked as a waiter, shirt seller and butcher.
In 1974, he made his debut on Rádio Tupi, then on television for television, where he presented the programs "Aqui e Agora" on the extinct channel Tupi and "O Povo na TV" on the SBT television channel . The parliamentarian served for four years as first secretary of the board of directors of Alerj. In the 2014 elections, he was re-elected with 208,814 votes and was the second highest MP in this election.
